So I thought I'd
start by introducing the family I helped to make. I
have a husband--Sam. He's just fantastic. He's
nearly everything I'm not. Calm, reserved and even
keeled. I tend to be the hothead and spontaneous one
of the two of us. Sam brought to our family two
daughers--Jen and Jessie. Jen is 15 years old. She's
starting her sophomore year in high school. She is a
lot like her dad. Very reserved. I never thought I'd
actually see her turn into a "typical
teenager" but she has. She's not a loud one,
but she is typical. She spends many hours waiting for
the next text message. She's starting to become more
social, which is do think is delightful. She's a
wonderful big sister and I'm so thankful for her
relationships with her younger brothers and sisters.
Jessie is thirteen. She'll be fourteen in just a
couple of months. It is exciting to see the girls get
older because they get more excited to get older. I
just love Jessie. She a level-headed young woman. She
thinks logically and pushes through her emotions to
find the truth in a situation. I respect that in a
young lady. She does a far better job than I EVER did
at that age. I can trust her and know that my younger
children are safe with her. Robbie is my first born.
He has been both a joy and a challenge. Bless his
heart! He's so much like his mom. I do have a
savings account for the therapy he'll need in his
later life. It's amazing how much like his father he
is as well. He is a very emotional child but extremely
analytical. He loves his parents. He is a dear child.
Oh, he's nine. Lucy is eight years old. My eyes
fill when I think of what a precious child she is. She
is the most obedient child I've ever met. She
struggles sometimes because she doesn't want to, but
the spirit inside her can't help but be obedient. And
she does it because it's right, not always because she
wants to. I'm thankful for her example. I'm kinda
sad to see her get big. I've enjoyed having her as a
little girl. Joey is five, almost six. He is the most
different from all of my children and myself. He is a
BOY through and through. He loves to be outside and
play ball. I think he would die of depression if I
ever banned balls from his life. He is the one that
sees life differently. So differently, that I have a
very hard time seeing what and how he sees. I don't
think that he's necessarily wrong and I'm right, but
I'm sure when I finally understand his
"sight" he'll just fly. Leah is my
baby. She's two going on 14. Wow. She has a mouth
on her. What an intelligent little girl. Of course
she has the benefit of having five older brothers and
sisters. She knows a lot more at this age than any of
the other kids. I haven't cut her hair in the nearly
three years of her life. I made that mistake with
Lucy. Leah has beautiful golden hair that is nearly to
her waist. She is easy to laugh but darn if she
doesn't tell you exactly what she wants and when she
wants it. That's my family. A husband and six
children. We're busy pretty much all of the time.
I'm grateful for every one of them.
