Session-1 Military Bio

These recorded sessions were conducted by my Christine and I as part of the Library of Congress' Veteran History Project. To comply with their standards the interview was broken into 5 sessions.

This recording includes some biographical information as well as some stories of the early part of my military service.

Here's a picture of me in infantry training. You can see I have an M-14 rifle. All of my training was done with the M-14. Then, when  I arrived in Viet Nam they gave me an M-16 as they had just switched to the new rifle. Of course, I didn't have a clue how it worked.

From boot camp to Viet Nam. You can see why i was chosen to go into tunnels. I was so thin. This is proof that I am not predisposed to be overweight. I even looked like a rat!
