William F. Catron
His Story
William F. Catron was born to parents John Catron (Nov. 22,1819-June 8,1873) and Elizabeth A. (Dula) Catron on January 20,1849. He was the 2nd oldest of 10 children born to the family. He was born in Caldwell Co. North Carolina. In 1860 census the family lived in Patterson, North Carolina.
In 1866 the family moved to Clay County ,Missouri and by 1868 had moved to Caldwell County ,Missouri. The home farm consists of 250 acres. John Catron Sr. died in 1873, and son William F. Catron took over the running of the farm. He was the eldest son in the family, he never married and in 1886, his specialty was the raising of fine horses.
In his later years 1910-1930 we find his brother Robert Mathias and family in same household. It was on the family farm that they all lived. William F. Catron died in 1931 and is buried in Kingston Cemetery, Kingston, Mo.
