Lesson 5 I-ASK Affiliate Program

CERTIFIED LEGACY ADVISOR TRAINING- LESSON 5

I-ASK Affiliate Program

OVERVIEW

As discussed in Lesson-1 it is important to establish a trusted CLA referral network in your local area. As an advisor you'll need them to perform services you may not be able to. Additionally, working as a team will compound your efforts to land new clients. Besides skills, each CLA has strenghts the others may not. For example, one may be great at speaking to groups and another is terrified of the thought. One may be great at networking and the other better at production and interviewing. Together your CLA team can take on virtually any opportunity to generate business in all forms. And, it's a lot more fun holding hands and jumping into new situations together.

To that end we have set up a basic structure to further encourage you to build your personal referral group. No, this is not a multi-level marketing scheme. The structure is more like what is found in conventional sales offices where the person doing the front line work gets the higher amount of commissions and the surpervisor makes a smaller percentage override on those he or she trains and manages.

There is no obligation to actively recruit people in order to be a successful CLA. But, our goal is to bring revenue to you in every way possible while staying focused on the mission. Building a personal referral network is part of that process and worth learning for a number of reasons.

More importantly, in this Lesson you will learn how to use your personal affiliate link to register clients conveniently into the LegacyStories family history library. If, for no other reason, using this affiliate link feature will allow you to mentor your clients and extended family and provide endless opportunities to market your services through social media and otherwise.

The LegacyStories family history library is an intergral part of all Legacy Matters Programs. Preserving living history is one thing but having a cloud-secured back up with sharing features is how clients can engage the extended family regardless of geographical impediments. Since you will be constantly registering clients and their family into the library, it's important to know how to use your affiliate link properly and why not make a little extra money when they upgrade. Make sense?

So, take the time to learn this lesson as it is an essential part of our program and we'll be referring to it often in webinars and other forums.

NOTE: At the time these video tutorials were produced "PLA" referred to Personal Legacy "Advisor". We have since changed this status to Personal Legacy "Advocate". We'll change the videos on the next revision.

It is crucial that you know how to use your affiliate link to regsiter clients in order to receive credit for their purchases on upgrades and to be placed in each others profiles for easy mentoring and communication. As the project expands we will not be able to manually connect you clients to you if they or you do not use the link properly. STEP BY STEP AFFILIATE LINK OPTIONS

Warning: Use the advanced links ONLY on pages where you see this:   If you do not see these icons on the page and try to use the URL link on another page your visitors will likely be required to register before they can see your content or be directed to a distorted page.

FOR SLIDESHOW PHOTOS:

Do not use the URL where the thumbnail photos appear. Click on the first thumbnail photo in the slideshow sequence. Once the photo is in full size view with arrows to scroll the slideshow from left and right you are on the correct page.

In the browser address field you will see the page URL. Add your affiliate ID tag to the end of the URL then copy and paste the full URL to notepad, email, etc. This is what a photo URL link should look like (without an affiliate ID tag):

https://www.legacystories.org/my-photos/view-edit-photos/1250christine-cormier/photo?albumid=4015#photoid=12482

This is how to create your own affiliate link for this URL.

https://www.legacystories.org/my-photos/view-edit-photos/1250christine-cormier/photo?albumid=4015/&wiz_id=12345#photoid=12482

1.    Insert a slash (/) immediately after the albumid=4015

2.    Normally an affiliate ID tag would be ?wiz_id=12345. Change the ‘?’ in your ID Tag to an ‘&’.

FOR STORY PAGES

This one is easier but still follow it closely. Here is the URL from a story page that displays the share icons.

https://www.legacystories.org/storyboard/read-legacy-stories/entry/nana-and-gammie

Add the same ID tag as on the end of your home page affiliate link. It should look like this:

https://www.legacystories.org/storyboard/read-legacy-stories/entry/nana-and-gammie?wiz_id=12345

Do not add a slash (/) before the (?).

FOR AUDIOS

Creating an affiliate link for audio recording pages is slightly different than for story pages above. Here is a URL Link to an audio page:

https://www.legacystories.org/storyboard/listen-to-audios?controller=comment&task=add&cid[]=1180

The main difference is changing the (?) in your normal affiliate ID tag to (&), then adding the rest of your ID tag to the end of the URL. It should look like this:

https://www.legacystories.org/storyboard/listen-to-audios?controller=comment&task=add&cid[]=1180&wiz_id=12345

Do not add a slash (/) before the (&) in your ID tag.

REVIEW POINTS

  • -One of the most powerful marketing tools
  • -Memorize your Affiliate ID TAG i.e., ?wiz_id=1234
  • -Create or find a story, slideshow photo, or audio recording with content that relates to a prospect
  • -Add your ID tag to the page's URL. Make sure you see the share icons on the page
  • -Warning: Be sure you know the differences between adding your tag to a story, audio or slideshow photo.
  • -Do not change the ? to  &  if there is no other ? in the URL
  • -Copy the entire URL after modifying and paste that into the email or social media to send prospects directly to the preferred page and when they register they will be tracked to you

SPECIAL NOTE: Do not send any URL page link that the 'Share' toolbar does not appear on top of the content. You'll find that the 'Share' feature appears on pages where the content is in full view, the preferred content a visitor would want to see.
