This was the first time I wore civilian clothes in 7 months. I looked like I was 12 years old here in Tapei. I had the same girlfriend for the entire 8 days. Annie. She took me everywhere and took this picture. We really had a great time in every way. When it was time to go I couldn't believe what I was leaving for where I was going. And she would've done anything to get back to the states. I got rid of her pictures as soon as I left and returned to thinking about Christine every day.

I also went to China Beach for a 3 day R&R because my unit destroyed an NVA unit in a fierce 2 day battle that cleared an area for our command.
