The Fragrance of Spring Flowers

I've smelled cows, and I'm tired of smelling cows. That's the reason I got away from them.  They are very stinky beasts.  And when you are around livestock, you smell like livestock.

It's just -- I don't know, there are a lot of nice things.  In the spring when the flowers are starting to bloom in the woods, you can walk or drive or ride up through the woods and you can sniff out the pretty flowers that are starting to bloom.  I can't seem to sniff them out the way I did the Estae, but they are good smells, the spring flowers.

Allen, I agree! Having had to grow up milking dairy cows and pitching the manure, and then going to school--well, sometimes I had "green stuff" on one of my arms and wore it most of the day before someone else pointed out the I stunk! Yes, spring flowers' fragrance is so clean and appealing. Great descriptions!

Allen, you have uncovered a photograph from your past and then shared it with us. You can't know how many chords that has struck in so many people.

Sometimes I had the green stuff on my clothes from the dairy farm, as well. But would you want to trade your memories with anyone else? Life has always been an adventure; and those who describe the sights, sounds and smells of their pasts are helping the readers to come to grips with shared realities. Thanks for making me sniff out a similar past.
