In 1997 with my retirement from the Navy approaching, Doug and I wanted to explore our beautiful country by traveling in our motor home.  There were several things required to prepare for this adventure.  Our "stuff" was sorted and important items placed in storage, several garage sales held, the house leased for a year and mail forwarding and bill paying set up.  A one year trial basis was agreed upon and on Thanksgiving Weekend we moved out of the house and into the motor home, a 31 foot Sea Breeze with no slide outs.  I was still several months from actual retirement but with saved up leave time, I was able to have my retirement ceremony in December and start making the transition.  this
