All of my life my mother hasn’t liked her mother in law . My Mom and Dad got married and lived with my Dad’s folks for awhile after they were married . My Grandmother ( Her mother in law ) said something that didn’t set well with my mother and my mother has remembered all of these years . My Grandfather died a year before I was born . My Grandmother died when I was eight years old so I didn’t get to know them very well . When I started doing my genealogy research that was one of my projects to find out why my mother didn’t like her mother in law . The only thing that I have come up with so far is this . My mother’s family came from Alabama . Her Grandfather fought in the confederate Army from Alabama . He may have even been a deserter and moved to Arkansas to get away from the war . On the other hand my Grandmothers father came from Ohio and fought in the Union Army and was a Prisoner of War at Andersonville Prison till the end of the Civil War . I don’t know of my Grandmother could have made a comment about my mother being from a “ Rebel Family “ or not . But knowing my mothers high spirits that would probably set her off .  Maybe some day I will know more to this story .
