The Day My Oldest Son Showed He Was A Man

It was a cool day in October 2009 in illinois. We were having a funeral  today . It was for my son that was that had turned 35 years old in August . I was their bouncingoff the walls . That’s just the way I was handling it . My wife was there to support me . Mt technically speaking Step-Daughter  that we don’t use the word STEP with was their for me ,her mother and her older brother ( Step brother ) . Our pastor a lot friends and yes even my Ex was there .  Because he also had a half brother . She wanted to p[ay respects also . ( I guess ) . It had been over 25 years since we had gotten divorced but there was still a lot of memories that my oldest son had not forgot about . Since he was ten years old when she was tearing his birth mothers pictures up in front of him and telling him “ she’s dead now forget about her “. Then she would have problems making them mind and lock them out of the house until I got home from work to deal with them . After five years of marriage I said “ENOUGH” and that is when we got divorced . But I guess  25 years and two more marriages made her forget things that she had done because she asked my oldest son at the funeral of his brother that was 17 months his junior “ Was I that bad of a person ?” He just said “ I won’t even go there.”  I think that probably did more good than if he would have gone there .All I know is . She will have to answer for it some day to the man up stairs . I pray that she ask him for forgiveness .

My Colleague, My Friend
It Would've Made a Great Trick

You obviously did a good job raising your son, since he was mature and wise enough to say what he did. That kind of reply to a statement like she made speaks loud and clear.
