His Story

George Edward Bebermeyer was born to parents Henry Conrad Bebermeyer and Mary Lucy (Ullner) Bebermeyer on June 25,1883, in Missouri.  At this point the family was still residing in Warren County, Missouri. George was the oldest son, and third child born to this family.
In the census of 1900 he was 18yrs old and residing with his family in Kingston, Caldwell Co. Missouri. On March 20, 1908 he married Mabel E. Fort (1889-) in Caldwell Co, Hamilton, Missouri.  In the census of 1910, he and wife were residing in Caldwell Co. Mo.  The census states they had been married 2 years.
On September 12, 1918 George Bebermeyer registered for the W.W. I draft, and at this time he was living in Joplin Missouri, with occupation Superintendent of Structural work.  He registered for the draft at the Kingston courthouse, and listed his mother as his nearest relative, no mention of wife Mabel E. (Fort) Bebermeyer.  I did find her living single in the Kansas City, Jackson Co. directory 1920-1925.  No record of divorce found.  But did find her buried under her maiden name later.
Unable to document George Bebermeyer in the census of 1920, but in census of 1930 living in Wichita, Texas with wife Florence Gail Bebermeyer.
In census of 1940 George and wife F.Gail living in Burkburnett, Texas, and he listed as CIO Labor Rep. At this time they had a son named Robert Bebermeyer.
