Grandma Beavers Didn't Have A Canopy Over Her Bed

I have been encouraged to write some more about my Grandma Beavers by my cousin . Because he said he didn’t know an awful lot about her except his memories of her soon after her husband had died and she was a crabby old woman . My mother was the youngest of ten kids and I am the youngest of her two kids . Therefore I am among the youngest of the grand children of Grandma Beavers . Matter of fact Grandma Beavers was 72 years old when I was born . She lived to be 92 when she died in 1967.I have several good memories of Grandma Beavers . I remember her reading her Bible and I never remember her saying a harsh word about any one . If she didn’t like what you were saying or didn’t believe it her favorite   thing  was  “PSSSST” .  I  remember  her   rocking in her rocking chair crocheting  ; watching  TV ( soap opera’s ) chewing her gums ( no teeth ) and going “PSSSST” .

There was a few times I would spend the night with her .  And even though she had indoor plumbing she was like a joke I heard one time .

How can you tell a rich man from a poor man ?

A rich man had a canopy over his bed and a poor man has a can of pee under his bed .

My Grandma Beavers kept a White Granite Ware bucket under bed . Just in case of emergencies . Her bathroom was at least twenty five feet away .

Grandma Beavers wasn't as pretty as this one. Her's was broke in.

Of course you got to think about her age too .And the way she was raised .

This is awesome. What a unique perspective of life as it was. I can hear her stifling people with her PSST! Great visual Charles. And, great pictures. Keep them coming.
