Her Story
Phoebe Almyra Twist was born December 24,1843 in Montgomery Co. New York. Her parents were Sylvanus Twist (1799-1861 ) and Phoebe (Barber)1806-1886) The couple married in Granville, Mass. in 1827. In the census of 1850 the family was living in Leota, Adams Co. Wisconsin. Phoebe Almyra was living with parents and 4,siblings. She was the middle child . Edward (19), George (17) Phoebe A.(6) Charles S. (13),and Adaland (12). The family was engaged in farming. In 1860 census the 2 older brothers were not living with parents. There is a large distance between the ages of the older children to the younger, but didn’t find another marriage for Sylvenus Twist.
Father passed away in 1861 and is buried in Coloma, Wisconsin, but his name is on Phoebe(Barber) Twist headstone in Highland Cemetery, Hamilton, Mo. It states he is resting in Wisconsin. I didn’t find Phoebe Almyra’s mother Phoebe living with the Stollers in the census, but obviously she moved to Missouri at some point.
Phoebe and Simon Stoller had two children born to them, Addie Olevia, born Feb. 12,1865m and died Jan. 5,1868 in Missouri. Their second child Clement W. Stoller was born Mar. 17,1873 and died Apr. 23, 1873. They are buried at Highland Cemetery ,Hamilton.
The Stollers then adopted Jennie who was born Aug. 19,1871 in Missouri.
Phoebe Almyra(Twist) Stoller passed away in Hamilton, Missouri on November 10,1904. She is buried in Highland Cemetery, Hamilton, Missouri.
