    Very little, major and important things have I changed my mind about over the years.

    In high school I decided to be an attorney that meant I would go to college, then law school took the bar exam and work as a lawyer throughout my life. I did that.

    I decided to go on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of latter day Saints when I was 19 I began that mission when I was 19 1/2 and completed it two years later.

    I got married and I had three children and I accepted the fact that my wife wanted a divorce. Does that count as changing my mind?

    I married Joyce and together we raised my three children, her three children and our two children. No changing my mind there.

    But there was changing my mind in the details of how to build my business, the types of cases to handle, where do we live Utah or Southern California.

    Where do we live? That was the biggest change of my mind. When we got married I moved to Utah to be with Joyce stayed for two years but never got a job never felt secure and decided my work opportunity was back in Southern California. I changed my mind and went back to Southern California. As long as I worked, I stayed in Southern California but it was the little things or the big things the types of work and types of cases I handled that changed. Perhaps if I'd stayed in Utah and didn't give up at that moment in 1989 I would have learned and found my business stability.

    The manner in which I raised children and interacted with them changed over the years and it was influenced greatly by the consistency and steadiness of Joyce.

    This is not a story of detailed changes and why and what changed just that some things changed. There were times that I wore a beard and times that I shaved it off and most of the time it was off.

    Over the years I've changed my mind about doing certain things at certain times but none of the foundational principles of values have I changed my mind about.
