Zipping
Flying through the trees like a squirrel or monkey...who wouldn't love that? My first adventure ziplining began with trepidation and ended with exhilaration. I wanted to take my husband on a "different' kind of trip, one that was daring but not TOO daring. Googling around located this thing called ziplining in Northeast Texas, a reasonable drive from our home. In the middle of flat Texas countryside was one high hill where the ziplining adventure began. It was a beautiful fall morning and at the top of the summit was a gorgeous view of tress dressed in flaming colors. We were belted and helmeted up; demonstrated safety stops and releases and then two very young muscular guys took us out to the course. Climbing to the platform of the first tree, my heart was pounding. Looking down the line to the next tree made my stomach queasy. Stepping off into space caused my heart to be in my throat..............but OH MY GOODNESS the wonderful fun of flying through the air!! It was amazing.
We have now been ziplining in several locations in Louisiana and Arkansas and our goal is to make it to Costa Rica and zip through the jungle there. Who knows, maybe a monkey will join us!

This is something I've always wanted to do but never tried. It really sounds like fun so I'm going to move it to the top of my bucket list right now!
And you have a great brand new course near you....about an hour south of Little Rock off the interstate. It is where we took all our kids and grandchildren this past FAll. It is fun.
This is the extreme version of the Space Trolley we had as kids. I'd love to do that and I think it's right up Janet Holt's alley!!
Oh my gosh I could feel the fear! I cannot go down hill fast it makes me want to ass out! I can remember climbing all the way to the top of a water ark ride with the kids only to put my mat down as I looked down the endless stretch of slide in front of me. The kids went with no problem and I climbed down to meet themas their faces and hair blew in the wind. It make my stomach feel like it's in my throat!
Loved your story and I hope all your dreams of Zipping come true!
