Joseph “Jody”Rufus Streeter
His Story
Joseph Rufus Streeter was born on December 27, 1884 to parents Charles Edgar Streeter and Sarah Frances (Clare) Streeter. He was born in Hamilton, Caldwell County, Missouri. In the 1900 census he lived with his parents in Hamilton, Mo., as a single person.
On September 5th 1906 he joined in marriage with Ethel May James in Breckenridge, Mo. Her parents were Isaac Wiley James and Serelda Jane Bellemy James.
The 1910 census show the family with 2 sons living in Hamilton, Mo. In 1918 Joseph R. Streeter registered for the WWI draft, didn’t find any proof of military service.
The 1920 census show the family with 3 sons living in Hamilton, Missouri.
In the 1930 census the family is living in rural Caldwell County, Missouri, in Gomer Twsp with 2 sons in the household.
In the 1940 census Joseph R. and Ethel live in Parkville, Missouri and he is listed as a Bread Salesman with a route.
His wife Ethel died in 1969 and is buried in Highland Cemetery, Hamilton, Missouri.
Joseph R. died in March, 1970 and also is buried at Highland Cemetery, Hamilton, Missouri.
