LEVI AND SARAH BEESON THEIR STORY
Levi and Sarah Beeson
Their Story
Levi Beeson was born in Ohio 1837-38, unable to determine names of parents. Sarah J. (???) Beeson was also born in Ohio, in 1845. In census of 1880 she listed both of her parents as being born in New York. In the census of 1860 Levi was living in Cambria Co. Hillsdale, Michigan with Franklin and Emily (Cheny) Cook and their children. Unable to find if Levi related or friend, the Cooks also lived in Ohio in the 1850’s.
On June 21,1861 Levi Beeson enlisted in Company H, Ohio 13th Infantry Regiment. Promoted to Full Sergeant on Jan. 1st , 1864, promoted to Full 1st Sergeant on Dec. 6th, 1864, and mustered out on Dec.,5th 1865.
Levi Beeson and Sarah were married in 1864, unable to document State married in. They were in the Daviess Co. Missouri census of 1870, with a hired hand living with them. I did find a Mira H. Beeson buried in Marlboro Cemetery Stark Co. Ohio, no dates on the stone. It is same row and plot where Sarah and Levi are also buried.
In the 1880 census Levi and Sarah Beeson are living in Sheridan, Daviess County, Missouri. No children are listed on census. He had listed his occupation as farmer.
In the census of 1900 the Beesons are again living back in Ohio, in Marlboro, Stark Co. Again living with no children listed.
Sarah died in 1903, and Levi in 1906. Both are buried in Marlboro Cemetery Stark Co. Ohio.
