Their Story
Noble Brelsford was born to parents Jefferson Brelsford(1812-1882) and Eliza(Barton) Brelsford (1814-1898) in Coshocton,Ohio. His date of birth is October 26,1834. In census of 1850 he living with parents and Milton-13,Emilina-11,Webster-7 and Anne-1 in Franklin, Coshocton, Ohio.
On May 21,1857 he joined in marriage to Sarah C.Hague/Hogue (b.Feb.15,1841-Sept. 11,1915) daughter of Jonah Hague/Hogue and Mary Ellis Hague. The marriage took place in Coshocton Co. Ohio.
In the census of 1860 Noble and Sarah lived in Jacobsport, Coshocton, Ohio with a baby daughter Mary E. Brelsford 7 mos.old.
On June 8,1862 Noble Brelsford registered for the draft Civil War. He was listed as a merchant at that time. I didn’t find any records regarding any military service. His brother Milton served in the Ohio unit, signing up in 1864.
In the census of 1870 the family was in Caldwell Co. Mo. Noble was listed as a farmer, and the couple had 4 children at this point.
In the census of 1880 still listed as living in Kingston, and at this time the older daughter Mary was not living in the home. At this time the couple had a total of 7 children with 6 living at home. The older son Charles (18) was listed as a mail agent. Noble listed as farmer.
In the 1900 census all of their children had moved out of home but Blanche (31) she and 4 children were living with Noble and Sarah.
In the 1910 census Noble , Sarah and oldest son Charles (48) were living together in Kingston. Noble listed as doing odd jobs, and son listed as being a book and fruit salesman.
Noble Brelsford died on July 2,1910 of a cerebral hemorrhage, and was listed as a solicitor for a Nursery. He is buried in Kingston Cemetery, Kingston, Mo. Sarah (Hogue/Hague) Brelsford died in 1915 and is buried in Kingston Cemetery, Kingston, Mo.
